Digitalisation World – DefensX Secures AI Workplace Use With New Browser Platform and Elsewhere Partners Investment

DefensX has secured growth investment from Elsewhere Partners to expand its browser security platform, targeting MSPs and SMEs with new AI governance tools including an AI Cloud Connector that isolates AI application traffic.

DefensX, a provider of secure web browser solutions, has announced the expansion of its platform alongside a growth investment from Elsewhere Partners. The company says the move is intended to help organisations of all sizes address security challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the workplace.

Background

According to the company, the browser has become both a primary workplace and a target for security threats. It says traditional endpoint and network defenses were not designed for SaaS, remote work, and AI-assisted workflows, creating a gap between where sensitive data resides and how it is protected. DefensX states that its platform is designed for managed services providers (MSPs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), aiming to address this gap at the point of access within the browser, providing visibility into employee use of AI and applying real-time enforcement without requiring a separate application.

Platform and reach

The company says that because many SMEs are part of supply chains connected to larger organisations, security vulnerabilities can extend across industries regardless of the security budgets and resources available to smaller companies. DefensX states that it combines AI governance, zero-trust file and phishing protection, policy-driven data loss prevention with real-time inspection of sensitive data, and zero-trust secure remote access. According to the company, its platform is used by more than 7,000 SMEs worldwide, delivered through a network of more than 500 MSPs and distributors.

New feature

DefensX has expanded its web browser security suite with the launch of an AI Cloud Connector, which the company says isolates AI application traffic and browser-based AI workflows from local and last-mile access networks, in support of compliance, governance, and data protection requirements.
