DefensX has expanded its browser security platform with new AI governance capabilities designed to help managed service providers secure AI adoption among small and midsize businesses.
The update includes an AI Cloud Connector that isolates browser-based AI traffic and helps organizations enforce data protection and compliance policies. DefensX announced the expansion alongside a growth investment from Elsewhere Partners intended to support product development, sales and customer support.
“We are doubling down on our mission to bring first-class AI governance and security tools to the MSP community and expansive SMB space, extending enterprise-grade protection to where work actually happens,” DefensX Founder and CEO Halis Osman Erkan said.
DefensX said its platform is built around the idea that the browser has become both a central workplace tool and a major security risk.
The company said traditional endpoint and network security systems were not designed for today’s mix of SaaS applications, remote work and AI-powered workflows. As employees increasingly use browser-based AI tools, organizations face challenges around data exposure, compliance, and governance.
DefensX’s expanded security suite introduces its AI Cloud Connector, which is designed to isolate AI application traffic and browser-based AI workflows from local and last-mile access networks. The company said the technology helps organizations enforce AI governance policies while supporting data protection and compliance requirements.
DefensX is positioning its platform as a way for MSPs to help smaller businesses address security challenges that are often associated with larger enterprises. The company said its browser-native approach combines AI governance, zero-trust file and phishing protection, policy-based data loss prevention, and secure remote access.
DefensX currently delivers its platform through more than 500 MSP and distribution partners, supporting over 7,000 SMBs worldwide, according to the company.
The company said its tools are designed to protect against phishing, credential theft, data exposure, and emerging AI-related threats without requiring separate applications or creating additional friction for users.
